Networks of Expertise: HPE

Networks of expertise aim to support subject associations and broader networks used by teachers and school leaders to support and improve their teaching practice. The focus is to build teacher capacity and leadership at school/kura and Kahui Ako at regional and national levels.

Education Outdoors New Zealand (EONZ), the Home Economics and Technology Teachers Association New Zealand (HETTANZ) and the New Zealand Health Education Association (NZHEA) bring the following initiatives:

 Year 1-8 workshops

To be offered nationwide in Term 1 2018.  More information coming soon.

Year 9-13 workshops

10 workshops offered nationwide, November 2017 

 "Connecting with contexts, concepts and colleagues" details

Resource development. 

Subject-specific resources are being developed that respond to areas of identified need and will be made available online.

Access to Kaiārahi expertise 

Each subject association has available a kaiārahi (leader) to build capability and adaptive expertise for practitioners. The kaiārahi will provide leadership, support and guidance to teachers, and can be contacted by email.

Health promotion resource

NZHEA has recently developed a position statement and PLD resource on health promotion. A selection of activities from the resource will be used at the above workshops. See the downloadable resource here.
